The Japanese Friendship Garden will be hosting its 5th Annual Cherry Blossom Festival. We will be searching for our first annual Miss Sakura and Little Miss Sakura to represent our Garden in the community. Come join us for great food, entertainment, and of course, the beautiful scenery!

This is an opportunity to experience a demonstration of the traditional Urasenke tea ceremony. You will learn the history of tea ceremonies and how to serve tea in a traditional way. Free with admission.

Fee: $40 members, $45 non-members

Each participant will learn how to make a carved vegetable and fruit centerpiece. The centerpiece will consist of a cantaloupe dahlia, turnip daisies, carrot flowers, and a leek ribbon flower.

Fee: $30 members, $35 non-member, pre-paid reservation required.

A temari is a colorful and intricately embroidered ball. This class will teach basic techniques to use colored threads in geometric patterns to decorate a ball. These balls make lovely gifts, whether as gorgeous home decor or as Christmas ornaments. Please bring scissors to cut thread and a sack lunch.

This class is for ADULTS ONLY, so please arrange for childcare.
