Collectors in San Diego

This exhibit will showcase artifacts from the collections of Mr. Gordon Brodfuehrer, Honorable Arthur Collingsworth, Dr. John Kelly, Dr. Robert and Joanne Meredith, Captain George Powell, Jr., JAGC, USN (Ret), and Soshin Saito sensei.  The Japanese Friendship Garden is honored to have the opportunity to display the eclectic artifacts of these local collectors.

Items on display will include:   

A collection of the Mino style Japanese pottery known as Shino and Oribe ware,      The Abbot's chair from the 18th century Japan,   Ornately designed lacquer wares and ceramics known as imari charger,     Well-known Ukiyoe artists from the 18th to 20th centuries, and     Calligraphy by the Daisōshō Hōunsai, Sen Sōshitsu XV.
