It is home to Japan’s most sacred shrine, Ise Jingu, and a community whose lives are deeply connected to the sea. Discover the beauty and culture of Ise-Shima through hands-on workshops and art exhibitions.

Workshop -  Kumiko Woodcraft Making

Time: 11:00am – 11:30am / 12:00pm – 12:30pm

Create your own coaster using traditional Japanese woodcraft techniques that celebrate the harmony of nature.

Workshop -  Pearl Accessory Workshop & Talk

Time: 1:00pm – 2:00pm / 2:30pm – 3:30pm

Design a pearl accessory charm using traditional Iga braided cord. Alongside the workshop, active Ama diver Kimiyo Hayashi will share stories and insights about the history and culture of Ama diving, and the unique connection between pearls and the sea. Ama diving is a traditional Japanese practice where women free-dive without breathing equipment to collect seafood and pearls.
