Accessibility & Visitor Resources

At the Japanese Friendship Garden & Museum, we are committed to making every visit enjoyable and accessible. As our programming, events, and garden continue to grow, we recognize that each visitor has unique needs and we’re here to support them.

  • Accessibility: All pathways are ADA-accessible, and ADA service animals are always welcome.

    • Shuttle service assistance is available from the Lower Garden back to the Upper Garden upon request. If you need shuttle service, please let our staff know at the gift shop.

    • Braille guides are available upon request. If you would like a braille guide, please request it from our staff at the Front Gate.

    • Virtual guides are available below to help prepare individuals with autism for a trip to the Garden.

  • Tours: Free virtual and audio tours are offered for enhanced experiences. Guests may also enjoy a volunteer docent-led tour, when available. If you would like to request a private docent-led group tour, please contact our Visitor Engagement Coordinator at programs@niwa.org.

  • Photography Policy: For photoshoots during public garden hours, the purchase of a photoshoot pass is required. Photoshoot passes are $50. Please note that Public Hour Photoshoot Badges are not available on JFGM Resident Free Tuesdays.
