Cleanup Kitsune (ki‐tsu‐ne) is an award‐winning, kawaii environmental brand inspiring waste awareness and everyday kindness from the whimsical world of yokai. Cleanup Kitsune sponsors events, parks, nonprofits and schools, educating on waste, litter awareness and assists in the transition of sustainable, single-use alternatives. Cleanup Kitsune promotes communal accountability, naturalist perspectives and shares Japanese traditions, philosophies and folklore. They can be found in person at schools, parks, at Japanese and outdoor events, collecting trash and littering kindness. Since their launch in 2023, Cleanup Kitsune has removed and sorted approximately 85,267 pieces (487.24 lbs) of litter, and through their waste‐organization stations, community cleanups, and the help of their volunteer group, The Happi Helpers, has diverted over 6,000 pounds of waste from landfills. Cleanup Kitsune is two earth-friendly fox spirits by the names of Misaki & Kazeo. Follow their journey as they learn about the responsibilities of humanity and discover how they help humans and yokai along the way.
