Call for artists!
The Japanese Friendship Garden & Museum calls for artists to submit original artwork inspired by the garden’s cherry blossom trees. Selected artworks will be displayed from February 21, 2026 to April 21, 2026. Submissions are open to local, national, professional, and amateur artists with various mediums allowed.
Timeline
Submission deadline: February 1, 2026, at 11:59 PM PST
Acceptance Notification: February 5, 2026
Delivery deadline: February 9 -11, 2026. Artists may drop off submissions at the JFGM Office.
Exhibition Open: February 21, 2026 - April 21, 2026 (During JFGM public hours. Subject to change based on special events.)
Deinstallation Pick-Up: April 23 and 24, 2026 (From JFGM Office between 10 AM- 4 PM)
REQUIREMENTS
Submissions must not exceed 24in x 36in (including frame).
A submission does not guarantee your artwork will be selected for display. You will be contacted by the Exhibit Coordinator if your submission has been selected.
Art must be ready-to-hang for display.
Each submitted piece must be an original that has not been previously shown at JFGM.
Art must include a label with the following information: Artist's name, artwork title, date created, medium, and dimensions.
Selected work must be printed and framed, matted or mounted, and ready to display. (Unframed work will be displayed with clips, which could potentially harm/damage the piece).

First and last name
Title of the artwork
Contact Phone number and email address
Digital Image of artwork as JPG format - file name must include last name with a number (Ex. Smith1, Smith2)
Dimensions of artwork
*The JFGM Exhibit Coordinator will notify you of your submission status.
*The above information is required for consideration of having your artwork displayed at JFGM.
*The artist is responsible for all shipping or transportation costs.
*Please note that submissions must be appropriate for all audiences as deemed by JFGM.
