The Unseen World of Yōkai and Yōjutsu

Yokai and Yōjutsu (witchcraft) have been born, told, and transformed alongside people’s lives throughout Japanese history. Yokai are beings born from nature, the darkness of the human heart, and inexplicable phenomena, ranging from terrifying monsters to endearing spirits that have appeared in stories and art for centuries. Beneath their strange appearances lie reverence for the forces of nature and human hopes and fears.
