Furoshiki Initiative

The Japanese Friendship Garden & Museum, in collaboration with community organizations will provide wellness care packages to underserved individuals and unsheltered persons this winter. Each package will include essential items such as toiletries and food to offer comfort and support. The care packages will be wrapped in furoshiki, which is a traditional Japanese multi-purpose wrapping cloth that can be used as a bag, blanket, or cloth for everyday use. The Garden will be collecting new travel sized personal hygiene products and non-perishable food if you would like to donate to the Furoshiki Initiative. Drop offs will be available at the ticket booth during the Garden’s public operating hours through December 5th.

Joining us on November 21st for Tezukuri-Ichi Holiday Market? JFGM will be accepting donations in the Inamori Pavilion. As a thank-you, the first 20 guests who donate will receive a Buy One, Get One Free coffee card from Peet’s Coffee!
