When and where is the retreat?
The retreat will take place on June 20, 2026, from 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM at the Japanese Friendship Garden & Museum in San Diego, located in Balboa Park.
Do I need to choose activities in advance?
No—this is a flexible experience. You are free to explore sessions at your own pace and attend classes and workshops that resonate with you.
Can beginners participate?
Absolutely! All sessions are designed to be inclusive and welcoming for all levels.
What should I bring?
We recommend bringing:
Comfortable clothing and shoes for movement
A beach towel or yoga mat
A reusable water bottle
Will food and drinks be provided?
Yes, you’ll have access to light snacks and beverages at the refreshment lounge.
Is this an indoor or outdoor event?
The retreat takes place within the serene indoor and outdoor spaces of the garden, allowing you to fully immerse in nature.
How long are the Elevation Appiontment-based services?
Session lengths may vary depending on the service provider and scheduling and may vary from 30-45 minutes.
Is parking available?
Yes, parking is available throughout Balboa Park. We recommend arriving early to allow time for parking.
What is the refund policy?
Ikigai Wellness Retreat tickets are non-refunable, however they may be transferred to another named ticket holder. Please contact jfgsd@niwa.org for assitance to gift your tickets if you are unable to attend.
Who is hosting the retreat?
The retreat is hosted by the Japanese Friendship Garden & Museum in collaboration with local San Diego wellness practitioners and small businesses dedicated to community care.
