Sake and Paint
Sip, swirl, and create something beautiful this weekend at JFGM. Guided by a talented Japanese artist, you'll paint your way through an unforgettable time. No experience needed, just good vibes and a willingness to have fun.
As you paint, let the soulful sound of a live handpan musician set the mood. It's the kind of ambiance you'll want to bottle up and take home.
Bring your date, your crew, your family — or roll solo and make some new friends. This is a judgement-free zone where the only thing that matters is enjoying the moment (and maybe your masterpiece).

Meet the artists
Atsuko and David Bacquet
We are a husband-and-wife creative team who share a love of art, culture, nature, and lifelong learning. Atsuko, originally from Japan, is an artist and educator whose work is inspired by creativity, beauty, and cultural connection. David is a musician and creative entrepreneur with a passion for art, music, wellness, tech, crystals, and bringing people together through meaningful experiences.
Together, we enjoy creating opportunities for people of all backgrounds to connect through creativity and self-expression. We believe that art has a unique ability to inspire joy, mindfulness, and community—values that are beautifully reflected in the spirit of the Japanese Friendship Garden.
